chapter 8

In chapter 8 the main characters it talks about is Henry, Johnson, and the soldiers. In chapter 8 the Henry hears the sounds of batttle again he thought about going, but was a coward and stayed back and tried to think of some excuse he could tell the soldiers when they come back. While he was walking around thinking of an excuse an injured man started talking to Henry and tried making a conversation with him. The injured man started talking about how he never ran from the battle line, and this made Henry half to leave, because he knows what he did and is not proud of it anymore. So Henry slipped through the crowd and the injured soldier was astonished. My question is why doesn't Henry go back to the battle line or do something other than try and make some excuse up, because you can't make an excuse up for leaving the battle line, soldiers will fight even if they can't walk. Just because your scared is no excuse.
