chapter 9

In chapter 9 the characters it talks about are Henry, the tall soldier, an injured soldier, and many other soldiers. This chapter starts out with Henry really thinking that running from the battle line was wrong. Finally he gets himself to go to the battle line, but the soldiers were retreating, and wouldn't tell him what was going on. Finally he saw the tall soldier, Jim, who was in his regiment. Jim was happy to see Henry, because he thought he was dead, and was worried. Jim and Henry talked and Henry felt bad, but couldn't tell Jim what he did. They keep on talking and Jim tell Henry one thing that scares him the most, and that was getting run over by the artillery, and then he has to leave and doesn't want to talk anymore. My question is why doesn't Henry just do some brave stuff so he can make up a little of the things he did wrong?
