chapter 1

In the first chapter the main characters it talks about are the soldiers, Henry (the one the book is mainly about), the loud soldier, the tall soldier (Jim), the youth, and his mother. The book starts off with soldiers getting ready for war and then it goes into Henry trying to get his mother to give him a chance to go into the army. His mother didn't want him to go into the army but finally she had no choice to let him go, so he headed off to training. He went through many drills and learned about the war. The question I have for this chapter is the youth all the young guys at the training camp or what?
